PROJECT OVERVIEW
Terras have been working with the Johnson Property Group to assist in achieving the vision of our client to create a nationally unique lake foreshore tourist marina and hotel function centre on this site. This stunningly outstanding architectural design has been proposed by renowned architect Koichi Takada to create a form that reflects the ecological values of the site and the surrounding waterways and distant horizon of the rolling hills. The building forms are aesthetically pleasing, the design proposes to have allow environmental footprint incorporating green roofs and generous open space areas that do not have the usual hard vertical faces of built forms surrounding them.
Terras has designed similarly sympathetic open spaces that draws from the natural surroundings, the influence of the water, the surrounding landscape. The site is proposed to provide extensive public access around and through the site, reference the Aboriginal history in the design forms and environmental-rehabilitation and reflect natural processes. Materials and forms are sympathetic to the natural surrounding environment with a strong emphasis on organic shapes integrated with environmental outcomes.
The green roofs reduce heat load, provide a visual aesthetic and ‘green’ the site. All stormwater is managed on site before it enters the lake. The foreshore shall be protected and managed with endemic vegetation to protect the lake foreshore.
