St Patrick’s College Strathfield

Terras are grateful to the St Patrick’s College for the opportunity to work with them and BVN Architecture on the new AIA 2024 Award winning Learning Hub Building at St Patrick’s College. The building is located in the heart of the campus providing new multipurpose sports courts, science classrooms, a canteen and centered on the main sports field as a grandstand and a feature of the school.

The design includes a façade with perforated aluminium blades wrapping the building.  project. Terras has cleverly designed the soft landscape to carefully veil the facade blades and roof playground using a careful selection of plant species to maintain sightlines but provide a durable sympathetic planting treatment.  The roof gardens and external planting further enhance the landscape outcome.

The Terras designed external spaces include a paved forecourt and custom seating elements using clay pavers to relate to and be sympathetic to the original architecture materials used in the school. These materials run through into the lower floor creating a seamless transition.
