Connecting with Country

Home > Projects > Connecting with Country

At Terras, we believe that true landscape architecture extends beyond design; it is about fostering meaningful connections with the land and the communities that have cared for it for millennia. With a dedicated Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), our firm strives to honour and collaborate with Indigenous peoples, weaving cultural heritage, history, and stories where the opportunity exists. We are committed to creating spaces that are not only functional and sustainable but also reflect a deep respect for the traditions and practices of the First Nations communities. By building genuine relationships and working hand-in-hand with local Indigenous groups, we aim to create landscapes that celebrate shared histories, promote healing, and encourage understanding for generations to come. Through this, we hope to contribute to a more inclusive and reconciled future.  Whether working on the lands of the Awabakal, Worimi, Wonnarua, Darkinjung, Birpai, or beyond, we are dedicated to listening, learning, and engaging with the communities we serve. We embrace every opportunity to create inspiring spaces that honor the traditional owners, reflect the rich history of the site, and envision a future filled with hope and connection.
